Some pictures are not displaying I see a little black box with a red X

Have you tried refreshing your screen on that page (hold down the CTRL key and click on the curvy reload arrow at the top of your browser). If this is not the problem, can you give us more detail on what you are doing and the link for the page you are on when this happens? Thanks.

When the thread displayed there was a little black box with a red X in it under the sentence. When I pulled it up just now I can see that there is a link where the black box with red X was before. the link is called "Sew Ducky". the link took me to Emma One Sock where there is a little black box with a red X in it. Wonder why I saw the black box with the red x a few days ago and today I can see the link? There was another thread, I don't remember which one, on 7/31/12 that had the same issue. I think what is confusing is I could see other pictures inside threads? thanks for any help you can offer. ------ Ada

It is usually the site you are looking at or the site linked to from the site you are looking at, or web traffic, or your own internet provider is jammed, as it were. Never change your own PC settings if you see something once. Try shutting down and rebooting after five minutes or so. If the same thing happens, and only on one or two photos or threads - wait till later on. I bet you 80-90% of the time it is not you. If, after several things seem odd over a few days, then maybe it's you.If there is no virus alert, and no other problems, relax and give time a chance. Also, in order to judge the general state of the net, I check here if something is very slow - just because the site I am looking at isn't one of the mentioned sites, if several or even one really large one is pink or yellow you know the net is very busy.
