I picked up my new Janome 5900QC yesterday I fitted the knee lift to try it out (love it!) but can't manage to remove it to put the machine away. Can anyone help me?

I once got the knee lift stuck in my 6600... I just gave it a hard tug and it came out. I had even called my Janome dealer who said to pull hard. There are wings on the end of the shft that goes into the machine. He said, there is no way it can be permanently stuck. The wings help to prevent it.

The only one of my machines that has a knee lift is my Brother. I turn off the machine when I insert the lifter and when I remove the lifter. On removal I sort of give it a little turn as I pull it out, just like when I insert it.
