Date: 7/28/12 2:34 PM I have almost a whole yard left over of expensive Max Mara raincoat fabric! I coulda saved $20! And this left over remnant is too small to make anything. I mean, what am I gonna do, sew a water-proof skirt?
Crip!
I vow, when this garment is finished, I will never again use the words "Max Mara" or "raincoat".
Hold me to it!

Date: 7/28/12 2:41 PM A yard? I can make something from a yard. ::hint::hint::
But if you're looking for ideas... A rain hat, umbrella bag to catch the drips indoors, a bag, placemats, outdoor pillows, something for a drooly pet. |

Date: 7/28/12 2:50 PM Waterproof rain hat to go with the coat? Waterproof Spats to put on over your boots or turn your non-boots into boots? Waterproof Tote bag? Waterproof slip cover/case for a lap top computer? Matching dog rain coat if you really had a little yapper dog and was actually into that kind of stuff? I think dressing up a pet like that, is kind of silly, but lots of people seem to be into it.
Some of that stuff might look nice with the raincoat, or you might decide it's a bit too much that way and too matchy/matchy though, but you don't have to actually wear it or even use it all together even at the same time or on the same day if you did not want to. |

I have the green raincoat. If I wear a green hat, a green backpack, a green purse, and green boot toppers, I'm gonna look like a GNOME.
And NOW I have to go get a dog!

Date: 7/28/12 3:03 PM How about using it as an accent with another (cheaper) raincoat fabric for any/all of the above suggestions? |

LOL.
But I'll bet you could sell the fabric. I was just thinking of making a waterproof hat, in fact. I would probably go for a print this time, in the hopes of masking my subpar sewing abilities, but maybe someone else would want it.

No, really, if the raincoat does not have a hood, a simple rain hat could be quite useful as well as good looking. You wouldn't look like a gnome if you stopped there. |
