Date: 7/29/12 4:55 PM I am currently working on a Sure-fit sloper which has a bust darts and double ended waist darts. I am trying to copy the idea of the Sorbetto top using the Sure-fit pattern. I liked the Sorbetto but I needed more waist shape than I could get without a zipper, so I want to morph that design onto the SF. What I do not like is the look of the front pleat with the waist darts. What can I do to change them so I don't lose the shaped fit. Obviously if I eliminate them altogether I will be back to the sack look. Any ideas? |

Date: 7/29/12 8:08 PM If you don't like the fish eye waist darts but want more shaping maybe you can simply shape the side seam more but keep the fish eye waist darts in the back? |

Date: 7/30/12 11:17 AM Experiment with a muslin or even paper. My first experiment would be adding the waist dart width to the bust dart by cutting down the center of the bust dart and folding closed the waist dart. This should give you what you want above the waist. You would still have a dart below the waist to deal with by a variety of options. |
