I got this lovely Paisley Viscose Poly knit from Tissu Fabrics, which turns out to be, erm, pre-wrinkled. It was described as "crushed", but I was in denial because I liked the color and the pattern. Doh.

Anyway, does anyone have pattern suggestion for a "crushed" knit? What can I make that won't look like I just slept in the garment and didn't bother to iron? (Yes, I tried ironing. No luck. The wrinkles stay.)

I've noticed quite a bit of these crinkle knits in RTW recently. For example, this camisole seems to be a staple this season at one of my favorite shops:

Perhaps a Google image search for "crinkle knit top" or "crinkle knit ____" might help you visualize the possibilities!

That fabric really is lovely. I can see why the crinkles might have been a surprise--but it's definitely on trend right now.

"Crushed" knits are a hot ticket item and just starting to appear...sew up a little knit top and enjoy being the fashion curve! That fabric is a gorgeous color and pattern! Nummmm!

schnittquelle.de has several patterns employing these crushed knits, like this, just to get you started with the concept.

Here's Peggy Sager's (Silhouette patterns) 'Giorgio' top in a crushed grey knit.

I had a RTW top made in crushed knit, that I copied last year. Here is my copy:

Thanks for the great suggestions. Some lovely tops and dresses they are.

Can't say I'm a convert of "crushed" fabric. Nor a great follower of fashion obviously. But at least whatever I make it at least won't look unkempt and out of place. That is if I manage to make it while the fashion is still hot, for a change!
