Since doing my sewing room makeover a few months ago, my ironing board has lived in front of my closet doors. I finally got tired of pushing it out of the way and decided to make a pressing station. I hope I like it as much as I do my ironing board. It is 20" deep and 48" long.

It's nothing fancy but I wanted a solid base and it made sense to attach it to my business fabrics cabinet.

For the top of the pressing station, I used 3 layers of polyester batting I bought at Walmart and 100% cotton for the top. I am not a pink person but loved this when I found it under a ton of folded fabric. I bought it from a small quilt shop 15 minutes away in a town that specializes in antiques. I totally forgot was there! No high quality cottons like Moda, but she has a vast selection. From what I could tell, it was all very nice and not cheap quality. Fat quarters rolled 80 cents, fast quarters folded $1.29, most fabric is $4.59/ yard and as high as $5.29. I will be going back when I am in need of more fabric.

Nice. I'll show this to my DH and see what he thinks of something like this for me. He keeps telling me my ironing board is not safe as the dogs could knock my hot iron off it when they are playing in the room.

I used a piece of counter top for the board. It is very heavy. I could paint the 4x4's white so it looks nicer, but probably won't.

Super clever!!!

I had that same print in the 1990's, I know I have a few appliqué hearts of it left, maybe a bit more. Still love it after all these years!

I love thrift! And how creative you are in finding a solution for your ironing station!
