I am looking for easy/beginner patterns for maternity tops, dresses, and skirts. I didn't see much when I checked out the pattern shop. Maybe I overlooked something? Do you have a favorite you recommend?

Thanks!

Burda and Kwik Sew both have patterns that are not only easy but also designed for someone who is just starting to sew.

Go to Shop Patterns & More at the top of this page, select Burda and then select "Easy to Sew" for the category. You can do the same for Kwik Sew. Both searches will give you some easy to sew options.

I think PJ bottoms are a great first project. You'll learn a lot and you'll be able to wear your PJs in the house even if they aren't perfect the first time around.

Hello,
This is really a good idea. I did not think that pj bottoms (like pants) would be an easy thing to do. I will check this out. Thanks.

The first ever easy pattern I ever, ever made was an Elizabeth Lee dress, NC #207. My doctor wanted to know where I'd "bought" such a wonderful nursing/maternity dress. Elizabeth's patterns are designed to be so easy and absolutely for the beginning sewer. She walks you step by step through the entire process, and very encouragingly.
