So I have a sewing room finally. The old screened in porch is now my sewing room. I am all set with furniture (Thanks to you guys and Ikea) but my walls are still bare.

I know I saw somewhere a big wooden scissors which you can hang on the wall. Or did I dream it?

Do you have any ideas on how to decorate the walls? Any sewing/fashion related art would be cool. DIY suggestions are welcome too.

I have a large Dresden quilt on one of my walls along with hand cross stitched Amish items. I made a couple of sewing related embroideries that need borders and quilted before I hang them up.

I've seen those ribbon racks at Michaels in the scrapbook storage area -- they work really well. My daughter has a couple of them in her scrapbook studio and she absolutely loves them.

Good luck on decorating your sewing space.

It looks like the picture shows a workspace whose owner is a frequent flyer at Ikea :)

How about this rack ?

Fabricland had big- about 12" buttons. They are an ugly brown but would be paintable. Now that has me thinking that somewhere I saw that someone had made buttons for their wall.

Here is one...Button for wall

I have a cute, small, quilt that I found at a thrift shop that is an image of a sewing machine; I'll take a pic and post it. I've always thought it would be easy to do. It's on the wall in my sewing room.

I googled "sewing machine decor", and this came up... etsy; some cute ideas

This was a result from a search for "sewing decor"; I like this quite a bit. Costco can print such things on canvas ready to hang.... Subway art

and of course buying from Etsy supports a craftsperson

Smaller ribbon rack here:

I'm pretty sure I've seen those scissors at either Joann's or Hobby Lobby, but I did find these:

Oh thank you thank you for the link for scissors. I am getting it this week!

So far I have the following

1. Find the larger ribbon rack in a store or buy from etsy
2. Find the wire dressforms
3. Buy the scissor hooks from Joann
4. Make the Buttons from Cheese board or buy a couple of large buttons from Joann.
5. Install a 9 cube cubby on one of the walls for miniatures
6. Find the wooden CREATE sign on etsy or somewhere else.
7. A couple of wall art pieces.
8. Do something with the boring staples cork board to make into an inspiration board.
