I am still in Winter sewing mode as I am in the throes of sewing a jacket (or at least the jacket pieces are spread out in my sewing room , untouched while I go to work ), but if you are preparing for the warm weather I would love to hear your plans and how you are going. Any end of season sewing is welcome too... ------ Sue (Toowoomba Qld)

I'm working on getting great top patterns to fit my vvFB. I've enrolled in the PR tee course to hone my skills. Just waiting on the pattern to arrive. Once I've perfected that one, I'll be altering my other top patterns and will have lots of lovely tops for spring/summer.

Date: 8/9/12 0:58 AM This sounds great Sue. Unfortunately work has been really busy so I didn't get much done in the way of the winter wardrobe. The way the weather today, I wish I'd made a few warmer clothes.
I've been playing on polyvore and created a set of the outdoor style stuff I'd like to sew for spring/summer. Some of it will be fairly easy but there are quite a few things, esp the pants, that will require drafting.

Date: 8/9/12 1:54 AM Looks fab treefrog. Polyvore looks like a fun tool!
I love the grey tee with the twist at the neckline. Have you a pattern for something similar?
ETA - I am really sorry too that my black wook jacket is till in pieces on my sewing table. It is not as warm today as I was expecting and it looks like we are getting the chill-blaster treatment tomorrow! -- Edited on 8/9/12 1:55 AM -- ------ Sue (Toowoomba Qld)

Date: 8/9/12 4:19 AM Thanks Sue, you are a wonderful motivator indeed and treefrog your Polyvore wardrobe ideas look great. I've never yet sewn a wardrobe, instead I seem to jump all over the place, sewing whatever happens to be my creative whim at the time My current project is the StyleArc Camilla Blouse from a bundle of fabric intended for a sari (dress, pants & scarf). It was sold as 80% cotton 20% polyester, but it has a lot of static and frays easily so I'm thinking it is mostly poly. The good part is that the fabrics are designed to coordinate and this gives it a nice RTW look.

I gave up on the winter thread when we booked our OS holiday, which requires mostly warm weather clothes.
I have already sewn a Burda top and a New Look dress was finished last night...hopefully some photos to come soon.
I feel like I am on a roll now.
While running some errands today, I tried on a few cotton knit tops - how disappointing !! Nothing fitted except dolman sleeve styles. At least I gleaned some nice design features. Many shops have bright coloured pants and striped tops.
Lincraft have Vogue and McCalls half price from 9/8 -28/8

Date: 8/9/12 4:36 AM Thank you Sue, didn't get much winter sewing done, have a long sleeve top to finish and still thinking about a jacket but it will be lighter so suitable for Spring not to mention the Trench Coat that Renata, Maria and I have said we would sew along together.
Checking out the Spring/Summer colours and have found a couple of pieces of orange in the stash so trying to work out what to make them up in
Treefrog great plans for summer and look forward to reading your reviews as you conquer them. ------ Sharon

I am not sure if the mythical trenches will ever see daylight. I am currently enTRENCHed, ha ha, in making a bag, a preview of work in progress for those interested. That has to be finished by 15th, so after that I will see if I can get started on summer wardrobe as well as the trench, maybe at the same time - I am sure there will be rain in summer. With your new collection of patterns you should be able to find something to start your new summer wardrobe.
Sue, love the new name of this thread.
