I can get one from Allbrands and they will throw in the guide for free. Looking at it, I'm wondering if it's just too big and bulky to be really practical or if it would just get in the way. The insert or the guide. Can't tell what you might need without knowing which cabinet you are getting and what machine will be sitting in it. The insert is here.. The guide attaches to the insert and I assume it is used primarily for piecing. If I were new to sewing and sewing large amounts of fabric, I might use it, but with any other application, it might get in the way. But if it's free, take it anyway. I got my first insert (somewhere???) long before plexi tables became the rage. Measure to be sure it will fit into the opening of the cabinet. The cutout for the machine can be altered if not perfect....although I would try to get the measurement as perfect as you can and not too tight! My husband re-cut the opening in insert for my second machine. Third machine came with a table I can use as an insert. Yes, I am aware of the negative reviews. That was one reason I wanted to be sure that the seam guide would really be useful. Just make sure of what you are reading and the product meets your requirements.
