So this maternity dress pattern is longer than I need it. It's dragging the ground. I' ve noticed the front is 4 inches longer than the back and it's for the growing belly. I want the like length longer than where the lines are for the fold so i can't fold there. When i do fold how much extra length do i leave in front? Or do I just make it even? Or what do you recommend? Thank you!

Do you want it floor length? If so, I would just make them even as it won't be too noticeable even with a full-sized belly.

What pattern is it? That would help determine where you can fold up the extra length.

No, I do not want it floor length. The pattern number is B5763.

Cute top! B5763

How long do you want it? It looks like the skirt part should be fairly rectangular so you can draw a line perpendicular to the grainline halfway or so down the skirt. Fold up however much you want there. If it is a lot of length you can draw a couple of lines and fold up a little at each: one at the hip line, one at the knee, and one further down for example.

Better to be a little longer to start with than too short. You can always shorten but you can't add back length.

Sky- I'm wanting it past my calves.
Patty E - So true! Will keep that in mind.
