Yesterday we dropped off 5 cases of canned cat food at the no-kill shelter across town. Our good deed for the day! While we were there we went in to see the cats. I love the way this shelter is set up. No cages for the adoptable cats. They are all in rooms with toys and beds etc. Probably about 12 or more cats and kittens per room. We went in each room and sat on the floor and most of the kitties would come running and climb all over us. It was very hard to leave there without taking all of them home with us.

Pretty much we decided we want a new kitten to add to our family of furry friends. But...they didnt have what my hubby was looking for. He wanted a medium to long hair white kitten that he can name "Snowball" Its bad when you pick out your new kittens name before you get the kitten. They didn't have one that fit that discription at the no kill shelter, so we drove to the other shelter in town to have a look. No white kittens there yesterday either.

Today we were out shopping and decided to run back to the 2nd shelter. Lo and Behold....a medium haired white kitten. He has been officially adopted by us and we can pick him up tomorrow afternoon. Before we can take him home they will be busy giving him his shots and fixing him.

He is appox 3 months old. His hair isnt pure white, but more of a dirty white. Hes has been at the shelter for 11 days, the first 10 of those days he was in quarentine which is why we didnt see him there yesterday. Apparently he was an abandoned kitten, found along with his identical twin brother. Both little boys were half starved and very dehydrated. Our kitten is kind of on the scrawny boney side, but we will do our best to fatten him up. I will post pics when we get him home as his "prison photo" isnt the most attractive one.

Hopefully my four year old cats will take to him quickly so we can all be one big happy family!

You are such a kind person to adopt your new kitty. I am sure that he or she will soon be a beloved family member.
Congratulations on your new arrival.

Aww, congratulations!

Do give your existing kitties a little bit of time- even Tanker, AKA The Best Cat in the World, took a couple of weeks to get over the "WHAT in the )(*%&Q@#$%^&*(_)(*&^%$#@#$%^&*!!! have you brought into my house!" when we trapped the triplets. He did end up "nursing" them within a week or two, and they're all friends now, but it was an unhappy few days for everyone involved. He'd also never been an only cat, we already had four when he got dumped on us.

I try and stay away from places where they have animals to adopt. I always feel so sorry for them.
But I have a rule after the two feral kittens showed up.
No More Animal!.....ever again.

Kittens are better in two's. That way they have a mate who is at their same energy level.

Did you consider adopting his twin, too?

Aww, yes, don't forget about his brother! He'll have an instant buddy to play with and heck, what's one more?
Congratulations!

This is Bumble (he really doesnt look like a snowball!)

He is named after the abominable snowman in the Rudolph cartoon.

Found out more of the story on this little guy. He and his brother were found locked in an abandoned house. Apparently the owners moved out and just left them in the house with no food or water. No telling how long they were there before being found. I dont get how people can be so cruel.

He is a very sweet loving little boy. He loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. Im sure once he makes friends with the other cats, they will be more than happy to teach the baby how to help me sew too!

He's adorable! I'm sure he'll be a great sewing kitty.

Are you going back for his brother?? He probably misses him....
