Date: 8/18/12 3:19 AM I am thinking of buying a Coverpro. Do they ever go on sale in Australia? I have been tracking prices for several months but they seem to sit at $699 - I assume I might get a bit of a discount if I pay cash. (Of course the Babylock coverstitch looks nice too, but it was $2295 - !!)
I got my overlocker reduced $999 RRP to $625 (Bernina, on sale, then teacher's discount, even thought I don't teach Home Ec/Textiles).
If the machines don't go on sale, I might as well just get one when I have saved up - otherwise I will wait (Christmas? Mothers' Day?)
I live in Perth (Mandurah) WA. |

Date: 8/18/12 4:27 AM Hi CJC4
I paid $699 for my CP1000 around 5 years ago - or when they were first released here in Australia.
I have bought a discounted item from a Janome dealer, I rang around dealers in my local area.
I would ask if there is a better price or can the dealer add some accessories for the same price. The centre guide foot is a must, the detachable table is wonderful too.
You might also ask about the CP in Perth on the Sewing Down Under thread, in case your post is missed.

Date: 8/19/12 0:31 AM Thank you for your comments and advice - will keep saving.
I think the coverpro will be it. I can't bring myself to pay over twice as much for the Babylock coverstitch, compared to US prices. Twice as much seems like price gouging. |

I paid $699 and got the clear foot thrown in. I have been watching it for a couple of years. The lowest price I have seen it was $650.00 but it was going to cost me that much in fuel to get there.
Even at $699 I think its a great buy - so nice and easy to use. ------ Paula - Melbourne, Australia

Date: 8/28/12 1:26 AM so I've found a second hand Coverpro, serviced (trade in from someone who has bought a Babylock - maybe one day I'll do that too!) Serviced by reputable serviceman, who does all the schools in the area. $399.00 - am going to go see it tomorrow after work.
