I think it's a pinker. I have one that fits on a table, not the machine. It's used instead of pinking shears.

It is a pinker. They came in table-top and machine varieties. There are diffeent blades, a straight, a crinkle (most common) and a mini-crinkle. They run from$50 - $100 on ebay (the pinkers) and straight edge and mini crinkle blades are, when they come up, which is rarely, in the $50 each range.

Hi Sewandwrite, Yes as Diane S says it is a pinker attachment. If you want to see one in action, go the www.youtube.com and in the search bar type in PB010011 to take you to the demonstration video. It is a fun gadget. I have one and use it from time to time to embellish edges......Laurie

PR is just the best: an explanation, an eBay price range, and a video.

Ya'll ROCK

THANK YOU!!

My computer double-posted on me. And since my laptop is also currently giving me grief, I felt a bit of venting, instead of a "double post" message was warranted.

Sorry ladies, without reading further I deleted the double post. Didn't mean to leave your messages hanging like that.

Pinkers also had differing finishes. There are the "crinkle" finishes, such as yours in the photo, but they also came in the glossy black. Some have steel deck plates, others have the plates in the same finish as the pinker itself. What a lot of pinkers are missing is the L-pin, which is meant to sit in a small hole on the deck. It's used to keep the gears from turning when changing blades. Also often missing is the thumbscrew.

More pinker pics

They were sold individually and with the Singer Fashion Aid cases.
