I've read/heard comments here and elsewhere that Janome is about to bring out something new and wonderful...rumored to be in September?? I am repeating what I read (don't remember where) so take it with a grain...but another Horizon-like machine?? It'd seem more likely to me they'd upgrade the 9500/9700 as they are very old news but the others are pretty current!! Anyone know something reliable about this?

I really don't know what else they could do.

I have heard that too.. probably here on PR.. and much speculation about a model with a much larger embroidery field.. Maybe they might get serious about competing with the TOLs already out on the market.

The Elna dealer says there is a new Elna comin' out.

When she first hinted at it about a month ago, she was indicating it would be more expensive.

Then I asked her if Elna was coming out with something that would compete with the Janome 12000 - and she said "no" - that it wasn't an embroidery machine.

No matter what comes out... I'm glad I got the deal I got on my 7700 this week.

On my radar someday: Babylock Serger, and some machine for travel.

My dearest wish is to have Bernina come out with a machine that doesn't give me a reason to *not* buy it.

Maybe its a stripped down version of the 7700...you know for years we've had the 6500/6600 ...both very similar. But if you say it's more expensive then i wonder what else could be added to the horizon? Maybe low-bob and hover! a few more stitches? i do think their sewing-only TOL models prior to this one had more stitches on board. very interesting to speculate about!!

ETA: seems like janome normally does the teasers on their website, etc...but not this time.

Well....

The one thing I'm surprised that we are not seeing is a sewing machine (not embroidery) that has a USB port and the ability to create/load more decorative type stitches.

I can see something like this coming out - and having a hefty price tag.
