Date: 8/24/12 8:34 PM The Baby Brother Sewing Machine was sold by Cragston Toy Company. The machine measures 7" x 7" x 4"
Cragstan was a toy marketing and distribution firm based in New York and imported post-war Japanese battery-operated and mechanical toys. The company's main focus was on toys with multiple -mechanical- actions, for example robots, and made sure the Cragstan name and logo appeared on their packaging in which they were sold.
I checked ebay using the search term "vintage toy sewing machines" and found some similar machines but they were different brands. Definatly would be fun to collect these cute little machines. I didn't dig around online long enough to determine the value of the Baby Brother, but some of the similar Russian machines on ebay are selling for right around $50. -- Edited on 8/24/12 8:35 PM -- |
