Date: 8/24/12 8:18 AM I'm working on a project where I'll be applying genuine suede tape/trim to cotton twill, and don't apparently have the right color brown thread (despite the fact that I have used this trim before ). Since I have to go out and buy new anyway, is there something special I should look for, or will ordinary sewing thread work?
Thanks! ------ ~Gem in the prairie |

Don't use any natural fiber threads! The chemicals used to treat the leather will eat through cotton or other natural fiber threads. You will need either poly or nylon thread. Other than that, I'd say that you would need at least a 50 wt thread. ------ Sewing in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia

Date: 8/24/12 11:21 AM Thanks, Ann. I have to admit, I've never bought thread by weight before. How would I find that information? ------ ~Gem in the prairie |
