Date: 8/24/12 6:51 PM Question for those of you who have made both the Colette Clover pants and Iris shorts... Do these fit the same (as if they were drafted from the same block)?
Basically, if I wanted to whip up a quick pair of shorts, would I be fairly safe with the Iris shorts if I applied the same alterations that I need to make to the Cover pants? (I'm not a perfectionist with shorts fit--just would like another pair or two in my wardrobe if this warm weather sticks around).

Date: 8/25/12 9:22 PM I've only made clover so far so I can't really say for sure. Have you tried comparing the two original patterns? I would guess they were designed based on the same block. You might try posting on their blog. They're good about answering questions. |

Date: 8/25/12 10:07 PM I've made neither of them, but Sarai is really super about replying to emails too. You could probably get multiple responses on their forum, but Sarai could probably give you some technical answers.

Date: 8/26/12 0:00 AM I've only done the Iris shorts, but found they were quite wide below the hip while the pants are quite fitted. Of course, that is an easy thing to play with; I have know idea how the waist/hips compare. I agree about just emailing Sarai. |

I just finished the Iris shorts, and yes, I believe the crotch curve is the same. I needed the same alterations for the Iris as I did for the Clover.
I'll be doing a full review, but I. Love. These. Shorts. The inner thighs don't ride up when I walk, and the waist fits perfectly--it's not too tight, and there's no gape in back. ------ --Michelle
