1 member likes this. Date: 8/27/12 1:18 AM I have had mine for at least 5 years now and it is just the right amount of machine for me. It's been reliable (as long as I don't use Singer needles). I've sewn chiffon, denim, satin, leather and just about everything else. I love Pfaff's feed mechanism which was why I got it in the first place. I like dedicated machines so I have 2 sergers, a coverstitch and an embroidery machineand none are top of the line. I just don't need all the bells and whistles and I give computers the heebyjeebies. Ask my DH, He can't figure out why a computer will never last more than 2 years for me but I don't want to take a chance on a advanced computerized machine. I'm pretty sure it would have a nervous breakdown. |

Date: 8/27/12 10:27 AM The 2030 is a very nice machine....around 8-10 yrs old. Though basic, it is nicely equipped and not limiting in any way. I believe this model was still made in Germany but if not, it is based on the series that was. If it has been well-cared for, it should last a long while with the routine maintenance. |

Date: 8/28/12 0:38 AM I had one and I really liked it. I ended up selling it and keeping the 1530,(mechanical) because I had way too many machines and the others were electronic too. ------ My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since. |

Date: 8/28/12 10:00 AM I replaced my 5th or 6th (lost count) cheap Brother machine from WalMart with a Pfaff 2020 and I LOVE IT. ------ www.iamchristianmichael.com
I'm proof that men really will ask for directions :-D
Bernina 240 & 130, Pfaff 1222E & 2020, Singer 503, Janome 3434D, closet way too full of spandex and I think there is a puppy somewhere in this mess. |
