I have been on here a while now and am getting the hang of reviews. Can you direct me to somewhere about the tips part of the review? How do you log the fact that you have included a tip about something you did whilst sewing the garment or whatever?
Thanks.

Not sure, but you could add a comment to your review.

When you're writing your review on the main page, just above the review writing box is the question, "Did you use any Tips/Techniques in this pattern?" To the right of that question are three Tip options:

1. Show All Tips-Choose this one if you'd like to include a tip someone else wrote in your review.
2. Show tips I've written-Choose this one if you've already written tip(s) on PR. The tips you have written will automatically populate. Choose the one you want to include in your review.
3. Show my Fav. tips-These are tips you've designated as your favorites. Choose the one you want to include in your review.

Click on the category that applies, for instance, "Show tips I've written" and write down the exact wording for the tip(s).

Go to the *Advanced Search box at the upper left-hand side of the Home page and enter the exact wording of the tip. Choose "Tips" from the drop-down menu below your tip entry. Click "Find".

This should bring you to your tip. Copy the entire http:// address and go back to your review page.

Decide exactly where you'd like to include the tip in your review. Click in that spot in your review. Then, above the review text box, click "Insert a clickable link in your review."

Continue the same way you would if you were adding a photo to your review:

1. After deleting the "http://" that is already in the box titled, Enter the complete URL:, paste the URL of the tip you previously copied.

2. After the words, Enter the name of the link:, delete the words, "Click Here" and enter the name of the tip.

3. Click on Get HTML. This will create the computer language that automatically takes the reader to the tip you want them to see when they click on the name of the tip. Copy the entire address.

4. Go to the exact location in your review that you want the tip to be and Paste the link into your review.

5. Be sure to check the link when you Preview your review prior to posting it for all to see. You want to make sure it takes the reader to the correct location.

*I have a Friends of PR membership and this is how I would include a tip in my review.

thanks Judy, very thorough. At least you knew where I was coming from.
So how and where do I write tips in the first place in order to select the tips I have written!is it somewhere on PR or do you link to something on your blog or what?
I do know about cut and paste stuff for urls. but it is good to have it all written down.
Thanks.

If you go to the Home page, in the left column (of the center two columns), about midway down the page you will see "Sewing Tips & Techniques". Click on "Add Tips". This opens up a page where you enter the name for your tip, photos links and a description of the tip. Once you SAVE the tip, it becomes part of the master listing of tips on the review page under Show All Tips as well as Show tips I've written. When you write your tip, give it a day to show up on the system. I don't know when Deepika schedules the daily upload/clean-up for her system, but once that happens, it should show up on the review form.

Oh thanks!
I will copy this and put it in the PR folder on my computer.

I actually go to PR via favourites to the Message Board because I could never find what I wanted to go to via the Home page. I usually forget it exists.

Thanks for taking the time to write all these things down.
