The clothes look wearable but are a little pricey...but I did a quick Internet search and the company doesn't seem to get good reviews...anyone use them before?

I *love* Soft Surroundings! I typically stalk their Outlet sales, because they are *crazy* expensive, but you can get good deals with what's left over at the end of the season--and the catalogue almost always has a coupon for the Outlet, plus they send coupons on your birthday (and on your SS "anniversary!" LOL). There's actually a thread here I started about their silk velvet pullover from a few years ago--I liked it so much I bought two! Their clothing is gorgeous and unique, so it's definitely a splurge when I do buy something.

I've had a couple of misses, though, and I do definitely read the reviews on the site. If you have your eye on something, you'll want to read the reviews on the regular site and not wait for them to go on sale, because the clothes in the Outlet don't have reviews posted. A lot of their fits tend to be oversized; I'm typically a medium in RTW (5'4", curvy size 8-10), but with SS I get the best fit from a petite med.

This (the top from the cover of today's catalogue) is my current crush, although I'll never buy it (I don't like rayon jersey). I was actually thinking of starting a thread in Creative Sewing about making a knockoff, maybe with a nice RTW pima cotton tee.

I've never heard of them, but their stuff reminds me a lot of Gudrun Sjöden. Same price range too, and their sales are also OK.

I have a few of their items I purchased in the bargain section. The quality is good, and they have held up well thru the washings. All of their catalogs I would like to have in my home & closet. I like looking through the catalogs to spurn ideas to copy in fabric/patterns.

I just found this store and immediately fell in love with their clothing. Some of the looks are too frilly for my taste, but the tunics and tees are right up my alley. I've been scouring the patterns for similar looks. If you would like to morph this discussion into a knock off discussion, I'm all in.

I just want their fabrics and a vacation on that rocky coast!

Do you get fabrics in Europe other than from China?
Looks like a lot of layering for the cold so you don't need a heavy coat too.....

6 years ago I bought 3 pairs of white linen pants. I still wear them and they are the only pants that do not have the 'funky' wrinkles under the butt. Actually they fit great and I've recently measured them to recreate the crotch length ratio of front/back. I need a short front crotch and they fit perfect. Haven't bought anything recently so I hope they are still great.

I rec'd this catalog yesterday and plopped it in the recycling bin without looking at it. Good thing this thread prompted me to retrieve it, 'cause I LOVE IT!!! Very cool stuff here. Now I have to scour the pattern catalogs to see how I can knock off all those beautiful tops.

Great catalog...misses run large, but I love that they offer Tall in robes and dresses. Beautifully made and unusual. These days I shop the catalog for looks to incorporate on my sewing - but before I retired I ordered from them quite a bit.

thanks everyone. I looked at their website reviews and they aren't great in the service area. I looked at the outlet and wowza...still pricey but not awful.

I AM ALL IN for a knock-off sew-along. So many of their pieces are "normal" and the details and fabric makes the difference.

I like this silk number with the waist shirring (outlet but not in my size)
