Date: 8/28/12 8:42 PM Hello, I am new to the site but hoping someone can help.
I am trying to find out if there is such a thing as a virtual dress form on line that you can put your measurements on the screen, you would see the dress form adjust to your settings and then someone your trying to work with can just pick out a dress or blouse and click and drag to the form to see if she would like it on her. I think it is out there somewhere because someday in the future, going cloths shopping at the mall is going to be a thing of the past. |

Date: 8/28/12 9:01 PM Well this site has a virtual dressing room that you can pick your height/weight ect and try on their styles/clothing not random patterns but you could use to try out different styles/lines...

Date: 8/29/12 9:59 AM Quiz Clothing is very cool. I liked seeing the clothing on a person of my size. |

1 member likes this. Date: 8/29/12 11:53 AM That is actually a very very cool site.
And I learned a valuable lesson: No matter what I put on, I looked like a brick. I now know to keep my hopes and fantasies in check while I'm sewing, because I'm pretty much going to end up with variations on a brick. Sigh. |

Date: 8/29/12 2:38 PM I've had that same reaction when I see my virtual shape with clothes on. If I only had a waist. Sigh. I do think people look less blocklike IRL because they are in 3 dimensions, not 2. At least, I hope so.
(There is another version of this type of thing out there, My Virtual Model. It's used by various online stores, including Land's End.) |

Date: 8/29/12 5:28 PM I am still in shock as to what my size is now. For 42 years I was 6'1" and super skinny and I knew just what would look good and what wouldn't. All the sudden I am just below the overweight point and have a nice gut and still not much rear. I am constantly making things that look terrible on my new older figure. A web site like that would be wonderful to check out what things work and what doesn't. Spending a week on something that looks stupid on you is flustering. |

If I were a sewing machine, all I would have to do is lift up my foot and all my tension would be gone.

Date: 8/29/12 9:46 PM I'm apparently too stupid to figure out how to find the link to put in your height/weight and try on the clothes. Can you give a simpleton some instructions? Please and thank you! |

Date: 8/29/12 11:08 PM It took me a while, too. Go to "fitting room" in the top menu, and then once you're there, look to the upper right of the screen, above all the clothes you can try one. There's a button there that says "edit your model".
Another gotcha is you have to take the clothes off the model as you try stuff on. Start by undressing your model. |
