For those that are interested, I just saw that the new Baby Locks are now on their site. As expected, it's their versions of the Brother V series. They are called the Unity, Crescendo, and Spirit. Plus they have the Tiara, which looks like their version of the HQ Sweet Sixteen long arm sit down quilting machine.

...maybe I'm paranoid by nature, but the name "Crescendo" seems a dubious choice...sounds like the title of a psycho-thriller.

I thought it was a musical term.

The machines... they all look the same. Just looking at the pictures did nothing for me. The names are ok. Nothing special.

I am so interested in the Spirit standalone embroidery machine. I have called to get prices and no one can give them to me. Apparently all the dealers are at a seminar for the release of the new machines and have all the pricing. So what price to you feel the Spirit will be going to be sold at? Does anyone know the price of the standalone brother machine DreamMakerô XE Innov-is VE2200 for sale in October? I want to see the range. I purchased from Walmart the Brother PE-770 for $538 and am now debating to return for one of these machines and wanted to know the cost difference.

I was at my local Brother dealer about a week or so ago and asked the price of the DreamMaker since I'm also interested in it. She told me it was $4,800 MSRP but would be selling it for less. That seems very high to me. I think someone else posted on another thread that it was going for $3,800 if I remember right. That still seems awfully high to me. I'm curious what my Baby Lock dealer will sell them for since they usually beat the Brother dealer by quite a bit in price.

On the brother site the new dreamweaver series is up. The one that is the combo sewing/quilting/embroidery machine is written up as a "Mid-price" machine. $4,000.00+ is way out of my budget for "mid-price". I guess I was dreaming that it would be about half that!

I love the idea of the large sewing bed.

I guess I was hoping it would be a reasonble price in between the higher end and the lower end. I was hoping for $1000 or a little more.

Crescendo is a musical term that means grow louder, something I'd definitely not want in a sm!
