I am sewing a peplum top, Burda Style 8-2012-113 , that calls for a neck facing and no lining. I want to line it, so can I omit the facings? Thanks.

Just cut out everything that you cut for the top only in the lining material. It will look so pretty. You may have to do some hand stitching when you are close enough to done. Just omit the neck facing. part.

I sometimes think keeping the facing even when lining the garment gives a nicer look. I've done both depending on my mood. With jackets I always keep the facings (just tack them down to the lining on the inside). With a dress/top I would most likely keep them because I like the finished look. It's a matter of personal preference.
