I have been lusting after this fabric on EOS since she posted it. Resistance is difficult, with the one key is "what should I make from this fabric?" That is the only reason that is keeping me from purchasing it. I am planning a mini wardrobe, so this will fit into my plan of browns & blacks, then utilizing grays later. I can see it sewn into a jacket, coat, sweater (pullover) and it goes on. But what patterns are best for this???? See fabric below....

I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life! And Rupert (Pfaff 2023), Baby (BL Enlighten), Victor (BLCS), Ash (Bernina 350SE), Pal (Bernina 530), Kee (Bernina 750) and the Featherteen Flock!

Most of all, I heart Woo (HimmyCat). Until we meet again, my beautiful little boy. I love you.

Adorable! I love seeing the fabrics other people lust after. So interesting the things people fall in love with!

I don't have a pattern recommendation, but I have a darling RTW tulip skirt made of a tweedy boucle like that, with the godets done in a contrast-print chiffon. Oddly enough, I also have a totally unrelated tweed jacket lined in contrast-print chiffon, with ruffled lapels (no, really, it's adorable) in the chiffon. You can kinda-sorta see the skirt here and here, and you might be able to see the jacket here.

Of course, both of those ideas are rather dependent on you ALSO finding a coordinating chiffon print, but I am nothing if not helpful!

Have fun! That fabric is beautiful! You should get it anyway.

LynnRowe, this is a thicker boucle, will it be too heavy for the neck??? You are a much more experienced than me, so just a thought.

Your skirt & jacket tweeds are very nice! I like the look and they fit you well. Gee, finding 'more' fabric, how sad..... I have looked thru my patterns, but not my Burda magazines. Off to go pull them out. Thanks for the links. Very nice!!
