1 member likes this. Date: 8/30/12 5:24 PM Janome apparently is offering a new machine similar to the 7700 this fall. Wondering if anyone has seen pictures or has any information from their dealer.

Date: 8/30/12 6:10 PM Well, at least we have a model # now...rumor has it they will be a variant of the 7700 Horizon. I'm very curious which niche these will fill and have to wonder if this isn't going to be the replacement for the 9500 or 9700 which are over-due for retirement. Maybe this one will be a combo on the 7700 platform. I can't imagine it would be a stripped down 7700 bc it would compete too closely with the 6600. am very curious and supposedly it comes out in September yet there've no teasers...just sparse rumors. |

Date: 8/30/12 9:31 PM It doesn't sound different from the Horizon except for this statement: "Janome's AcuFeed system has been a favorite among quilters. Now it's detachable. The AcuFeed Flex Layered Fabric Feeding System on the Horizon Memory Craft 8900 QCP uses the Dual Prong Foot to keep even the thickest stack of quilt layers moving through in perfect sync." Does this mean you could take it off the machine like a walking foot? Not sure what the advantage to that would be. I didn't compare number of stitches but everything else sounds like the Horizon 7700. |

Date: 8/30/12 9:32 PM Thanks SW for providing that link!! Not a combo machine...sounds like a beefed-up horizon? I didn't read anything in that article that would make me want to choose it over the Horizon...am i missing something? |

The big dif seems to be it's gonna be a 9mm wide monster.
"270 stitches with hundreds of stitches up to 9mm wide"... That doesn't sound like much more than the 7700 - except that they're up to 9mm wide now.
Also...something about that thread cutter "port" - making it more suitable for longarm usage.

On my radar someday: Babylock Serger, and some machine for travel.
My dearest wish is to have Bernina come out with a machine that doesn't give me a reason to *not* buy it.
