Question about stitch regulators Is bernina the only sewing machine with stitch regulator?

Date: 8/31/12 6:29 AM unfortunately the bernia's are the only company that i'm aware of, where the stitch regulator is compatible in terms of home domestic machines. There are the sweet sixteen quilting machine and babylock replica of the long arm machines which also have the stitch regulator. I don't do FM and don't plan to, especially since I found FM embroidery patterns one downloads and lets the machine stitch. Why should I do the work when my sm can do it, and better, lol Pricey though! It shows that it will only work on certain machines. I wondered if it relly does a good job. I haven't heard or seen anyone commenting on it. ------ ReRe1

I dont think that the speed of the BSR is really worth it. FMQ at 1000 spm is pretty slow. I know people disagree, fine - but for me I think FMQ should be pretty fast. ------ Drag queen quilter!

Date: 8/31/12 6:02 PM My mom's Viking has a "Fabric Mover" which I guess is not a foot but more like the hoop that you see on the pic in the post above. I have a Bernina with BSR - love that foot!!! I'm not a terrible FMQ'er without the foot, but the foot makes this a lot more fun and easy. Is it worth $500? ... i think that's the going rate, not sure... Since I can FMQ without it, I probably wouldn't spend that much on it. I guess it depends how much disposable income you have and how often you would use it. I got mine as part of a package deal -- the SM, BSR, and embroidery altogether.
