Date: 9/5/12 6:25 PM I am looking for a pattern for this coat:
http://www.thedarkangel.co.uk/en/product/477-anastasia-coat
I've found this Butterick's pattern:
http://butterick.mccall.com/b5425-products-10530.php?page_id=872
But it doesn't have the hood, it's not as long, and the back is different. Would anyone know of any other coat patterns like the first coat? Thank you. -- Edited on 9/5/12 6:27 PM -- ------ Evelyn: Pfaff Creative Performance

Date: 9/5/12 6:45 PM Length is easy. The rest, a little harder. If you cannot draft your own hood you'll have to find another pattern that does have a hood and combine the patterns. The back lacing shouldn't be too hard to figure out. I can't see how they are working the lacing, but you might add a flange into the back darts, or seams, were there princess seams? and add grommets to this piece to add your laces to. ------ www.nancyksews.blogspot.com |

Date: 9/5/12 9:50 PM Yeah, you're right. There are costumes of capes with hoods. I think I may grab one of those. And now that I think about it, the Simplicity Steampunk Coat costume has the same lacing on the back. I've made that outfit and so I know how to create loops for the lacing in the back. I also remember that I picked up the Neo (The Matrix) coat costume pattern. I think I can use that one also. :)
I was kind of hoping not to have to draft my own hood, but I don't think it'll be too difficult to add a hood. ------ Evelyn: Pfaff Creative Performance

Date: 9/5/12 10:40 PM The hood on Vogue 8806 looks big and loose like that... maybe you could add it.
That's such a lovely coat, btw - PLEASE share pics when you are done! |
