1 member likes this. Date: 9/7/12 2:47 PM I need to make this - a shawl/cape that can be worn several
ways. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Here are photos:

Date: 9/7/12 3:25 PM Here's your image:

It looks like a wide reversible shawl that buttons at the sides and has contrast pockets.
Have you checked Stitch magazine (Interweave) downloads? ------ Fashion Maté, where I blog about what I (eventually) sew : http://fashionmate.blogspot.com

Date: 9/7/12 8:58 PM I took a class awhile back that taught how to copy a garment. It's pretty easy and that garment you have would be a perfect candidate. You could probably trace it easily...looks like just a large rectangle. Then just add the buttons and pockets. You would cut out 2...one for the inside color and one for the outside. There doesn't seem to be any other seaming that I can see.
If you don't have it in your possession to copy, you could easily make a large rectangle...however long you need it to be...then add your buttons and pockets in the right spots. -- Edited on 9/7/12 9:04 PM -- |

Date: 9/7/12 9:29 PM This reminds me of the shawl in Kwik Sew Pattern 3092. Granted, 3092 is for a fleece shawl, but if you click through to the Size and other info PDF, you can see that there is some shaping to this shawl -- it is not a simple rectangle.
