Altering to make a maternity dress

Since its gathered, this would be pretty easy to do. You'll have to adjust the length in front too. Since you won't know how her belly and boobs will grow until later, maybe you can leave some of the work until closer to the date? ------ Melanie

Date: 9/8/12 11:42 PM Just a word of warning, leave lots of seam allowance in the bust area! Not only do breasts get larger in late pregnancy, but the whole ribcage expands. If possible, I would even elasticate part of the bodice if possible, it will be more comfortable for her.

I have not looked at the patterns, but a 2 piece outfit that could allow for nursing if the baby comes early may be a good idea.
