Hi all. I want to sew the Colette Meringue skirt, and am starting with making a freezer paper pattern. I noticed that the 'lengthen or shorten here' lines are placed differently on the front and the back pieces -- it is lower by several inches on the front. Can anyone tell me why this is so? Even if I don't have to alter the length (I sure hope I don't!) I'd like to know the reasoning behind this, and also how pattern makers decide where to place these lines in the first place. Thanks!
