Shorten the Bodice of a Dress with a Zipper and Boning

It has a zipper in the back and also has boning. The boning would definitely have to be shortened since it runs the entire length of the bodice. Is this alteration possible? Here is a photo of the dress- (it is the last of the three dresses shown) http://fashoenistasunite.blogspot.com/2010/12/romantic-red.html basically i just want to bring up the fluffy part of the dress about 3-4cm. I have someone who alters my clothes but she speaks no English and I want to make sure this can be done before trying to explain it with my hands. Thanks!
