Date: 9/17/12 2:10 AM That looks interesting - pricey, but interesting. Have you used one, or seen it in person?

Date: 9/17/12 5:35 AM Great idea. I bought a similar LED light set (longer light strips, of course) for undercabinet kitchen lighting, and the amount of light those tiny bulbs produce is amazing. ------ “Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig.” -Robert Heinlein and Ann's father. Date: 9/17/12 11:14 AM I nearly fainted at the prices!! The cheapest are nearly $70?! Maybe it's because we buy so many LEDs for our boat that I'm familiar with prices but my god, I was expecting these to cost about $20. You could easily get a standalone IKEA LED and mount it there for even less than that... ------ www.fehrtrade.com |

Date: 9/17/12 12:45 PM Aha, if you click on the second video demonstration, this must be where the sewing LED light strip idea came from!
This very pricey little invention seems like a natural outgrowth of under-cabinet illumination technology. It's a wonder no one has thought of using it on a sewing machine before, since good lighting there is always, always a concern for us.
Certainly, such a small number of LEDs should not be costly in themselves; the price probably reflects the fact that it's a new idea for a niche market, and maybe there's a bit of engineering in making the electrical connection unobtrusive. Take a look at the price for this different approach to the problem. -- Edited on 9/17/12 1:02 PM -- |

Date: 9/17/12 1:42 PM I dont know -- 70.00 is lots of money .. but its lots less than the cost of a new machine with better lighting. ------ Drag queen quilter! |
