Should I Buy a Singer 15-125 Singer 15-125 advice

It has the mint green color and looks similar to the 15-91. Comes with a cabinet. Is it a steal? Is it worth getting? What do you think? Thanks!!

The only difference is in the body. The 15-125 is, of course, "mint" (or "men's room") green, in a "futuristic" shape as 1950s Singer designers saw it, and made of aluminum rather than cast iron. Correction: its body is made of cast iron, just like the 15-91. It should sew just like its older brethren. Whether it's worth $90 is mostly up to you. For that price, I'd demand it be cosmetically perfect, or nearly so, with paint in good shape, and no rust. The motor should be in good shape, although it might need servicing for lubrication. Beyond that, you can fix wiring and the like easily. -- Edited on 9/18/12 9:28 PM --

A 201 and 15, both in cabinets for $40.00 on CL. So I think $90.00 is really high. ------ My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since.

If it needs rewiring or a motor service (re-greasing, armature polishing), or is filthy or rusty, prices should fall accordingly. I paid around $10 for my 15-125, but it needs servicing. Once I've done that, I'll find it a new home.
