I"m working on pattern 2446 Simplicity (amazing fit pattern). I'm at a point where I think the bag lining or NO lining is what I would prefer, but I don't know how to proceed.

I have the shell done and the under collar sewn on. no sleeves yet and no upper collar or facing pieces sewn on yet.

since their lining directions seem to use the lining as a way to secure the upper collar and facings, is there a way to just eliminate the lining altogether? at least on this muslin.

thanks,
susie

I'm not quite sure I can be of help, but I'll be bumping this up so someone else can chime in If you are talking about not adding a lining to your muslin, can you just tack the collar and facing down at the shoulders and seams? If there is an undercollar, can you lift the upper collar and tack the two seams together?

I've tried looking at it and pinning to see how it goes together, but so far I haven't been able to pin it in such a way that it looks right.

I might have this pattern. If I do, it will take a bit of time to find it I'll see if I can figure out where the problem lies and get back with you

Thank you. I'm kind of on hold at the moment. I've sewn and ripped out so much so far that it would be nice to do it right the first time..
