I have a Pfaff 213, (basic machine, made in Germany, no IDT, looks from the late 70s) that a lady gave me at a garage sale, because she said it couldn't be fixed. I wanted to double check the bobbin size, and what category feet it takes.
I got it out last night, tried sewing and the lower tension was loose. My husband took the machine apart, oiled everything, and vacuumed it out, now it sews perfectly.
I found a free manual online at VSM and printed it out.
I don't know for sure what size bobbin it takes, the one from my 1530 was too big, so I stuck a class 15 in and it seems to be OK.

Wonderful, Diane. It sure paid off when he took the sewing machine repair classes. I have no clue about the bobbins.

is this it? This is a loud video and the guy does not have a clue about the machine. I just wanted a visual is all.

Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors.

Yes Carol, that's it! I have to go to town Monday and will stop in at Montavilla see.
I think I'm going to take it to work. I have to do some repair work once in a while, and I have to use the junkiest Kenmore on the face of the earth. This Pfaff is a Cadillac compared to it.

Keep me posted on how it goes. I would like to know you have a good machine for repair work.
