I just saw Sewingengineer's review of a Marfy dress pattern. I've always ignored Marfy patterns because 1) I had no idea where to buy them and two 2) I think they don't come with any sewing instructions?

Now I have a vague memory that the patterns can be purchased on one of the Big 4 pattern sites. Is that true? Do they have instructions? Does anyone know?

Thanks

Susan

They don't have any instructions and yes, they can be purchased on the Vogue (and other BMV) patterns sites under "other brands"
Even though they don't have any instructions, many of the straight forward dresses, shirts and pants can be assembled by looking at a good sewing book like the Readers Digest book or others.
I love them because their patterns are stylish, the fit is remarkably consistent and they are very well drafted so the pieces fit together like they are supposed to.
A couple of other things to note are that they come one pattern in one size. So, you have to be sure to follow the size chart and order the correct size. I personally love this because I don't have to paw through 5 different patterns in 7 different sizes.

Hmmm that one size thing is both good and bad, I suppose? I guess it doesn't matter for me because I always use one size anyway, I.e. I don't transition from one size to another when cutting out patterns.

The directions might be a bit more difficult. The dress that Sewingengineer made was really pretty and had some pleating detailing on the neckline and sleeves. I'm not sure I'd know how to do that. I guess this makes the Burda pattern instructions we all complain about look pretty good by comparison? Lol

Thanks for the info.
