I started to change needle position on my serger and the needle fell out of my hand into the serger. Have tried small dish at bottom to see if it hopefully fell in there..no, it's no where to be found, but when I shake the machine I hear it but can't get it out. Any suggestions out there to get this needle.

Thank you

I wonder if it is in empty space in the bottom of the machine and therefore unlikely to cause harm? I bet there are not screws anywhere to take that bottom part off and fish out the needle? Of that is annoying. I have done it on my sm before.

If your machine is like my Evolution they actually planned for that occurrrnce and placed at the bottom of the machine where the needle sits.
Take a look and see id you don't have a little pull-out drawer.

Check for the little 'drawer' at the bottom.... My imagine has one.

You can take the bottom off by removing the screws on the bottom of the serger.

It would be a good thing to do this ever so often as this area collects a goodly amount of lint.

I've done this too and have never found the needle. I figure when it gets a tuneup, it will present itself at that time. Nothing is interfering with my stitching so all is well.

Big 4 Pattern size 12, RTW bottom: 6, RTW jacket 8, RTW top (no size fits me well!)

If you think your sewing is better than everyone else's around here, get out of my way b****. I hate sewing snobs.

Whew, I was so worried that the needle inside would cause harm to the machine, as I just unpacked it Saturday morning and was so happy to have it.

Yes, I can hear the needle rattle around when I shake it and know that it's in the lower front corner, where it doesn't effect anything. Good thing to know that bottom comes off for cleaning and finding needles.

Thank you one and all for info.
