Help -need pattern suggestions! Looking for something like this...

I didn't see patterns though... I would love to find this pattern or something very similar; I want to try to make something like this: Harvey Berin 1950s gown, but with a bit of a v in the neckline (notch or slightly sweetheart)... and make the grey ribbon bit blue... There will be swing dancing at the reception... :-)

You could probably go with RTW, and then choose your ribbon color for the skirt to match or coordinate with that. (That would end up looking very "sweet," though, so keep that in mind! :)) ------ ~Gem in the prairie

But I'm using Simplicity 2400 as a base - shortening it, flaring it from the waist, and turning the sweetheart neckline into a straight one. I'm also taking out the accent ribbon from the original, it's not really my style. I'm going to get a knowledgeable friend to help me add shoulders/sleeves to the pattern for the lace part. It's been quite a bit of work, but I have a first muslin now! (Except I added waaaay too much into the bust, sigh.) I saw the aforementioned Simplicity 4070 when I was looking for patterns, but that has a waist seam, and I wanted princess seams that go all the way down, as per the original. -- Edited on 9/27/12 7:25 PM --
