My daughter has chosen Kwik Sew 3402 for the basic design of her wedding dress.

The bust measurement for XL according to the pattern in 43-45". Her bust size with a minimizer bra on is 48". How is the best way to go about altering to accomodate for her larger bust size? I have searched and read but didn't see anything for halter type dress.

I plan to make the following alterations as well:
- adding a short train
- bringing up the V neckline a bit
- increasing the height of the back of the halter and adjusting under the arms to accomocate new back halter height
- adding a black sash to extend to length of train

I hope to have a muslin bodice for her to try tomorrow night. Any help would be most appreciated!!

Blessings,
Jan

Fantastic Fit for Every Body has a page describing a full bust adjustment for a halter.

Use the Amazon "Look Inside" feature and search for "halter". You may find this page helpful.

The author instructs you to measure from the shoulder seam, over the fullest part of the bust to the bottom of the bust, and also to measure from the center seam, over the fullest part of the bust, to the side seam. Whatever method you use to alter the pattern, you will need enough fabric to go over the bust in both those directions, as per your measurements.
