Date: 9/24/12 4:03 PM I am trying to buy an embroidery machine. I wanted the Brother 770 but I was told it would not accept Disney designs from anywhere except ibroidery. Does anyone know if that's true ? |

Date: 9/24/12 6:03 PM I bought the 780D with disney because I was afraid of buying the online version. I have only stitched out a couple of disney designs and truly was not impressed with the ones I got with the machine. They stitch out ok, just were the old mickey, daisy, pluto designs. Ohter than the needle threader breading immediatley the machine has done a great job. |

Date: 9/24/12 6:49 PM I believe you are correct. I don't see this as a great disadvantage as I would buy just the ones I wanted from ibroidery and the savings from the Disney machine would easily pay for them. If you are a huge Disney fan, this might make a difference. (I don't think your finished product can be sold, however, but can't say for sure on this.) -- Edited on 9/24/12 9:15 PM -- ------ Janome serger 634D, Brother PC6000, Singer 500A & 328K, Bernina 600, White Rotary treadle, New Homestead A VS treadle |

Date: 9/24/12 8:48 PM Hmm, I would double check that. Even Brother embroidery machines that are Disney machines can use the Disney designs from ibroidery. I know before I could download any designs, I had to register my machine on the website.

Date: 9/24/12 10:29 PM It's true, you register your machine than download designs from ibroidery. The memory cards with Disney designs only worked with Disney machines (there's a chip in the machine). Most memory cards are being discontinued and everything design related is going web based. Currently only Brother has licencing with Disney.

Date: 9/25/12 6:13 AM I have a question.... MUST you purchase a Disney machine from Brother to be able to download designs from ibroidery? Could you download using the 770 or do you need a "D" model machine ... such as 780D?
I have a great Babylock machine but have thought of purchasing a Brother so I could purchase the Disney designs for grandchildren. ------ wife, mom, nurse, grandmother, sewing/embroidery hobby from SC with a BL Ellisimo, new BL Enterprise, Bernina 180 & 1090. |

Date: 9/26/12 7:48 PM It doesn't have to be a "Disney" model but you do need a machine listed on the site. The Babylock won't work because you need the serial/internal machine number to load designs. Older model machines without memory also won't work. ------ Janome10001, Babylock ESG3, Brother ULT 2001, White 634D serger, Pfaff 1472, Singer featherweight, Singer 14T957Dc, Bernina FunLock 009DCC coverlock, Brother PQ1500S, Janome CP900. |
