I'd love to have a part time job in either biology, photography and/or sewing. Given the area in which we live, the biology thing isn't going to happen. I do have my own photography business and work trickles in through that but just not enough to make me happy.
I am considering posting on Craigslist that I'd do alterations and see what happens. I was talking to a seamstress last night -she is retired and does periodic work for a local theater- and she said she has a friend who gets more alteration work than she can handle.
I know there have been numerous threads about this but I can't find them using the PR search. Anyone have any advice to offer? Is this a losing deal? Or a convenient way to make a little money while working from home?

No, there were threads about it here. Or maybe that was before they set up the Sewing As A Business category

Unfortunately, you have to be a member of the Sewing as a Business forum, although it was a separate board here beforehand; very briefly.

The forum is very helpful; lots of people who do nothing but business work and who know everything there is to know. And each board is exclusive for business issues, such as customer complaints, etc.

Edited to add: The forum hasn't had much activity in a while, so you might not want to go to the trouble of joining.
