Date: 9/27/12 5:43 PM I'm looking for some silk brocades and I ran across puresilks.us
Does anyone have experience with them? Their fabrics look gorgeous but the prices seem a bit low, I'm wondering if what they sell as pure silk is really a blend... thoughts?
Btw, here's one of the ones I am looking at

Date: 9/28/12 10:46 AM I noticed that they have a swatch service (2 swatches for $10 U.S.) which includes airmail costs. It might be worth your time and money to buy a couple swatches and do a burn test. That way you'll get to actually see the product and perhaps confirm purity. Good luck. |

Date: 9/30/12 8:27 PM Nora, glad you like the pattern-- I fell in love the moment I saw it.
Diane S, me too. It also makes me a little wary about buying but they take PayPal so hopefully everything will work out ok.
Dianne22, that sounds like a good idea but I'm tempted to just go ahead and order since I'm only getting enough for a scarf. Living dangerously!!!!! |

Date: 10/8/12 0:15 AM Oooh, thanks for that link! I'm going to have great fun exploring over there! I do historical costuming, and it can be really hard to find interesting natural fiber fabrics that really look period. (Frex, the only silk brocades we get locally tend to have very traditional Chinese designs--like dragons--on them; not so good for the Italian Renaissance!) Their linens section is awfully interesting, too--seeing some very unusual pieces that may just find a need to come my way.... ------ ~Gem in the prairie |
