Modern Dress Pants patterns for men . Where to get Zara (and other mothern style) dress pants pattern.

This old styles are somewhat big and long and don't look modern to me. What brand of pattern would you recommend for me? Do you know where I can get it? I found one pattern which might suit your needs, Simplicity 7145 (caveat emptor: I know nothing about this particular vendor). Etsy and Ebay have extensive vintage pattern offerings as well. Consider kwiksew OOP, and vogue OOP. I use to make trousers all the time, and they were this style.

They tend to have more modern styles in their menswear collection than what you generally find with the other "big" pattern companies. For example, this suit pattern has pants that are quite slim. You could easily alter the pattern to make them even slimmer, depending on your body frame.

Date: 9/30/12 6:43 PM If worst comes to worst, you could always buy a pair (maybe someplace cheapish like Target or Walmart, Marshalls, Ross or a thrift store) as long as you just like the style as then fabric or workmanship would not even count, and only the garment pieces instead) that you already get to try on, walk around in and sit in, and know how they would fit ahead of time, and the actual fabric would not make much difference, if you were just going to pick them apart and cut them up to use as a sewing pattern instead. It might be worth it, if you wanted to make multiple pairs for yourself out of rather expensive fabric. You could also very carefully trace some off, to paper, without hurting them, if you had unlimited amount of time, but a whole pair of pants would be kind of hard to do in a dressing room someplace and if they caught you, in a department store doing that now a days, they probably would not be terribly happy about it :)
