Question about what software options do
Using 5D QuickFont software - Pfaff

Okay, I have a Pfaff combo sewing/embroidery machine and when I purchased it, it came with some 5D software. I know it's not the full blown pro version, that's fine. I'm looking to get software when I can (more likely when this beast gets paid off. )

The 5D software that came with the machine is 5D organizer and 5D QuickFont. I'm using QuickFont to convert some true type fonts to font stitch files.

When I am setting stitch options, for the Satin Stitch, there are two options for underlay.

So, questions.

What does "underlay" mean?
What does "zigzag" do for underlay?
What does "edge walk" do for underlay?

Here is a screen shot of what I am talking about.

How did you get to the 5D quickfont? When I loaded my 5D that came with Panzy, I couldn't find the Quick Font anywhere, just the Orgainzer. My dealer is supposed to be checking i to this for me, but I wonder if I just missed a step in my loading or something...

Oh and "underlay" is the foundation base that your satins will go over top of.

Lynn,

In the 5D Organizer software menu, click on "QuickLink" -> "Accessories." You should see "5D QuickFont". If not, then you may not have it and yes, your dealer should check on this for you.

If you installed from the included disk, I don't see why QuickFont wouldn't be included.

I didn't know about the accessories thing, I will check that out, thanks!

Ok nope, nothing there, so my cd is missing the QuickFont. Should be an easy fix.
