I got my new Kenmore model 1803... what do you think? short video asking questions about my new machine

Have you tried removing the bobbin and rethreading it. I just had a similar issue on my Kenmore (a Janome Kenmore) and when I removed the bobbin and rethreaded it all up, it went away. It started right after I had to refill the bobbin, which is why I tried that first off. But my troubleshooting law is "eliminate the simple answers first" :) Anyway, GORGEOUS machine and a wonderful table. :)

I think I would take it for servicing - no matter how good she sounds, she probably needs servicing - after all these years there will be an accumulation inside that would be properly cleaned in a servicing and her timing checked as well.Good for you - a lovely machine. ------ "Be kind whenever possible. HOWEVER, rest assured that you got a GREAT machine, and at a great price, too. And I would not use it that way, just because I like my machines to run nice instead. Even if no one else wants to say so. It's way too noisy and clackety, for how it should sound. But that noise is not coming from your motor at all. I think it's coming from your bobbin case area and with each needle drop or something under there instead. I can't tell what it is by just a video sound and also video's are kind of echo-ey, so that might even distort it some. But, take your fabric out of there, take out the bobbin case, take out the shuttle and even the needle. Now run it fast, without all that stuff gone and missing, pressure foot up, and if it sounds good, at least you know where the clackety is not coming from. Then slowly start adding that stuff back in, and you would have a better idea where the noise is coming from. Maybe it's just dirty, or maybe needs lubrication, or maybe has a bad bobbin in it, or maybe it has something to do with the bobbin case, or maybe your needle is really tapping on something metal to metal with each stitch? I don't know why no one else can hear that, but I actually can.

Sort of like a very expensive and well calibrated, quiet jet plane, if there could be such a thing, especially when you frist press on your foot pedal and first start sewing with them. Yours really does not at all. If you sew with metal hitting metal (not sure but could be that) that's not a good thing. Also contributing to the "bad noise" but probably not causing it only, is your needle just looks way hulking too big (like maybe big enough to sew a tent- and maybe it really is hitting your hook) and also not sure but your pressure foot looks funny. If it's really flat on the bottom that is fine, but looks not all that flat, and could it maybe be one with a big channel on the bottom of it for pin tucks instead. That and a huge big dull needle and flagging going on under it, could make more noise too, but to me it does not sound like just a dull too big needle noise at all. More like dirty or metal hitting metal.
