Date: 10/1/12 3:09 PM I am considering purchasing the Sure Fit Design system, I have gone to the websites for several of these systems and feel that Sure Fit gives the most customer support. Is this true? Also I am short, 5'1", thick waisted, overweight, thin thighs, think apple on a stick, making anything from a standard pattern is a fitting nightmare. Will this help me?
Thanks for any info.

Date: 10/1/12 3:17 PM Excellent customer service from my point of view. I've not made many garments from my kits (purchased them all) yet, but just having a master pattern that I use to adjust commercial patterns makes the whole thing worth every cent to me. There are some threads here on PR regarding SureFit that might be helpful to search them and read what other customers have said. Good luck! I love mine! |

Date: 10/2/12 1:15 PM I often post how much I love and use my SFD kits. I recently lost a little weight and need to redo my pants sloper. Glenda was very helpful with my first sloper and I plan on getting her advise as I create this one to fit my new measurements. |

Date: 10/2/12 6:26 PM I bought the SureFit dress kit after attending a "seminar" on these pattern systems some 25-odd years ago... although I was very much a rookie sewer at the time (and just 15 years old, I'll add) I had no difficulty whatsoever using the system and adapting it to whatever type of pattern I was wanting to draft. I used the same kit regularly for years and years and years and only since learning "proper" pattern drafting in the last couple of years have I really stopped having a need for it.
I'm not a particularly difficult size, but I do have a thick waist (well, thick compared to a model's, anyway :-/) and no bum and I never had an issue getting the Surefit block to fit my shape.
I would definitely recommend them...

Date: 10/3/12 7:37 AM I bought the SF pants kit from someone on the yahoo group 'sewitsforsale'. even though it's an older system, Glenda has been VERY helpful. She is great at responding to my questions. I'm tall so I have the opposite issue you do. For the first time, I feel I can draw a pair of pants and they will fit. I"m very very happy with my pants kit. When my budget affords it, I will be adding to my SF collection with other things. |

Date: 10/3/12 12:31 PM I use my SureFit Designs blueprint sloper for all top and dress patterns. I just add decorative details from other patterns, like necklines, sleeves, etc., that I like. SureFit was the only method I found that effectively dealt with my narrow shoulder, narrow upper chest, DD bust. Glenda has just come out with a leggings download for about $6 that I'm probably going to order. |
