Embroidery Quilts Does anyone here use embroidery machine for quilting?

It looks like most of the quilts combining embroidery are 'quilt as you go' quilts. Are there any embroidery quilting enthusiasts here on PR?

I use it to make quilt blocks or use it for the actual quilting. It's easier but to use embroidery in your quilts they don't have to be quilt as you go. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com

How do you use the embroidery machine for the actual quilting if you are not doing quilt as you go? Thank for sharing!!

Date: 10/5/12 10:56 AM I use the Jumbo Magna Hoop - they are sold according to the brand and model of EM it will be used with. There are video tutorials for the product. Click here. I use all the magnets. And I store them in a clay saucer when not in use.

Date: 10/5/12 11:49 AM Well for one I did, this was a wall hanging. I did an embroidery on fabric for the block before joining it to the other pieces. I did another using stipping designs to quilt but it was a quilt as you go. But it was done by rows. I still did blocks and sew them into rows and sew the backing to one side and the batting and quilt top to the other. It's hard to explain. I saw Nancy Zieman do it. For the first row you do a regular quilt sandwich and then go from there. The easier way to to quilt as you go so you won't have the drag of a big quilt on the machine it might affect the design. I also did a flannel quilt for my dd. It was paper pieced but in the cent was room for 4 x 4 designs that I picked that had to do with her life. flannel one done in rows hard to see the stippling embroidered before putting together ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com

I cut the square larger than the finished size. Then I embroider the square and then assemble it in the quilt.
