If you were moving on with the fashion fabric, I'd hope that you would update the review with the finished garment. I personally wouldn't write a review of any muslin I sewed because I only sew a basic muslin, except for pants.
I have included pictures of muslins in some of my pants reviews because pants are tricky for some of us. What are you working on right now? ------ my blog: http://kf-biblioblog.blogspot.com/

I want to know what I might run into, even if you didn't complete the project. After all, who would finish sewing it up if you knew it wouldn't beyond muslin phase? |

3 members like this. Date: 10/8/12 5:57 PM I've written reviews after completing only a muslin. Remember it is a pattern review so if you have something about the pattern to share then write a review. Some people will criticise (why I don't know, but some do ) but most will appreciate it, especially if there is a pattern error or poor drafting which stops you from going any further with the pattern. After all there is usually a reason why a pattern doesn't get past the muslin stage. ------ Belinda. Melbourne, Australia

When I'm considering a pattern I like to know as much I can (they're expensive here in NZ) and before I put my time and energy and hope into one it is great to know if others have struggled with it, if the sizing is off, or whatever. I'd say absolutely post a review of a muslin! |

4 members like this. Date: 10/8/12 8:38 PM I haven't done a review in a long time since I'm doing production sewing. But when I did, it was as soon as the muslin or first garment was done or wadded. Sometimes the muslin ended up being wearable, sometimes it was the first draft to fashion fabric, but my impression of this site was that people wanted to know what the pattern was like. I wrote my reviews with that in mind.
When it comes down to it, I want to know if the pattern is worth buying, and putting my time into it. |

I hope it would be helpful for people to know what didn't work, ------ Marg

In my case, I'm easily distracted. I made a muslin of a pair of BurdaStyle pants that I thought were flattering. I haven't finished the real deal though.
In addition to knowing about the pattern itself, I like to see how the garments look on real bodies. It often helps me know if a style would flatter me and a muslin helps too. ------ Mary
