Date: 10/8/12 7:51 PM I really love B5749 but I would like to make it with long sleeves. Can someone point me to a not too painful way to add a sleeve to this dress? I know it will involve more than just extending the length. Here is the line drawing:

Date: 10/9/12 8:11 AM If you really want to make this dress with longer sleeves, you could try making the dress with a kimono sleeve (which isn't set in, but is part of the dress) In order to do this, you would have to lower your armhole, draw a line, starting at the top of the cap (the shoulder part) down to where you want the sleeve to end (above the elbow, because once you get past the elbow there are more complications); in the area where you lowered the armhole, draw a line of the same distance. Then try it out as a muslin to see how it fits, and then you would probably have to add some more width to the underarm seam. How much would depend on how tight the sleeve was on you. ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." Jean-Charles Boisset, Winemaker

Date: 10/9/12 8:58 AM It looks like there is a side zipper so you will need to relocate it or move it down some. |

Date: 10/9/12 8:40 PM I think you need to find a similar pattern with long sleeves. Several people who made Vogue 1250 Reviews added long sleeves. Maybe reading some of those reviews could help you.
That looks like a cute pattern. I have it but have not made it yet. |

Date: 10/9/12 9:09 PM Thank you. This is great. I had not even noticed that long sleeves had been added to 1250. It looks pretty much like what I need to do. |
